Wellbeing at Weston Public School

At Weston Public School, we proudly use the Coach to Cope program to foster a supportive environment where students develop self-regulation, resilience, and positive behavior strategies. This evidence-based approach pairs students needing support with trained staff coaches who guide them in identifying triggers, setting goals, and building coping skills. Whole-class lessons and small-group workshops teach emotional regulation and conflict resolution, while restorative practices help students reflect on behavior and rebuild relationships. Parental involvement is encouraged through workshops and regular updates to ensure consistent support at home and school. By tracking progress and celebrating milestones, Coach to Cope creates a positive school culture, empowering students to succeed both academically and socially.

Aligned with Weston's core values of being safe, responsible, and respectful, the Coach to Cope program reinforces these principles in all aspects of school life. Students are supported in making safe choices by learning to manage their emotions and behaviors, fostering a secure environment for everyone. By taking responsibility for their actions, students develop accountability and the ability to reflect and grow from challenges. Encouraging respectful interactions, the program strengthens positive relationships among peers, teachers, and families, ensuring a harmonious and inclusive school community where every student feels valued and supported.
