Science and technology

At Weston Public School, we are committed to providing students with a robust foundation in Science and Technology, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to navigate and contribute to an ever-evolving world. Our approach integrates hands-on learning with innovative practices to foster curiosity and problem-solving skills across a broad range of contexts.

Science and Technology is a mandatory subject for all students from Kindergarten to Year 6. In this dynamic learning area, students explore both the natural and made worlds, applying scientific and technological skills to understand and shape their environment. Science provides a structured way of inquiring about the world, enabling students to investigate evidence and develop solutions to real-world problems. The inquiry-based nature of science empowers students to think critically, opening doors to new ideas and discoveries.

Weston Public School is proud to take digital literacy seriously and is in the rare position of having a 1:1 student-to-device ratio. This enables our students to seamlessly integrate technology into their learning experience. Guided by the SAMR model (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification, Redefinition), we ensure that technology is used purposefully to transform learning and drive innovation.

Through our Science and Technology program, students gain essential skills to succeed in an increasingly digital and complex world, preparing them to think creatively and act responsibly as future leaders and innovators.
